Summary

The Director of IT will collaborate with executive leaders and department heads as a strategic partner to provide in-depth technical expertise to support business decisions and IT initiatives. The Director of IT will be reasonable for driving implementation of best practices for optimizing infrastructure and operation costs.  This position will require an onsite presence in Severn, MD.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and operationalize Information Technology strategies; Recommend short- and long-term IT goals and objectives aligned to strategic priorities to executive leadership.
  • Provide strategic advice to key leaders and division/department heads on all technology matters
  • Create a culture of IT professionals focused on business alignment, accountability for outcomes, and continuous improvement; Drive transformational change and innovation while balancing business, infrastructure, and technology needs.
  • Ensure key business strategies and processes are supported by technology systems that enable growth and flexibility.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to IT department to achieve secure, reliable, and cost-effective operations of IT infrastructure and applications.
  • Seek and evaluate emerging technologies and educate stakeholders on the potential for new technologies to deliver return on investment by enabling business innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, leading them to meet or exceed expectations for productivity, quality, and achievement.
  • Oversee and manage capital projects to ensure target dates and budget expectations are met; Ensure service-level requirements are met while upholding all governance standards.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience with most recent experience consisting of leading an organizations IT operations, systems and teams.
  • Ability to translate complex technical terminology, concepts, and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical team members as well as executive level audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner as well as participate in working groups
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities as well as establish and meet deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability as well as willingness to create documentation of activities, processes and procedures
  • Maintains a customer service mindset both to internal staff and stakeholders
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field
