Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Office 365 Engineer to lead, manage and execute the deployment, migration, and optimization of Microsoft 365 solutions across the firm’s client organizations. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing Microsoft 365 implementations while ensuring seamless collaboration, security, and user adoption. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Microsoft 365 services and a proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Implementation & Support:
- Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Intune, and Security & Compliance features.
- Be the subject matter expert working alongside others and/or function as the primary resource to execute Office 365 migrations (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams) from on-premises or third-party systems.
- Configure security and compliance policies, identity management, and governance for Microsoft 365.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Microsoft 365 services and integrations.
- Provide guidance on best practices for Microsoft 365 administration, automation (PowerShell), and optimization.
Project Management Support:
- Assist with the development of project management plans, timelines, and budgets for Microsoft 365 deployments and migrations.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and business units, to ensure a successful implementation.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and resolutions to stakeholders and leadership.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
User Training & Adoption:
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops/webinars for end-users and IT admin staff.
- Drive user adoption of Microsoft 365 tools by providing best practices, use cases, and productivity tips.
- Act as a liaison between IT and business users to understand needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
Compliance & Security:
- Ensure Microsoft 365 environments align with organizational security policies, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Implement data loss prevention (DLP), information protection, and conditional access policies.
- Collaborate with security teams to monitor and respond to Microsoft 365 security alerts and incidents.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 deployment, administration, and project management.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, Defender, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with hybrid Microsoft 365 environments, Active Directory, and Entra ID.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for Microsoft 365 automation.
- Project management knowledge, including Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
Preferred:
- Microsoft 365 certifications (e.g., MS-100, MS-101, MS-700, MS-500, AZ-104, etc.).
- Experience with third-party migration tools (e.g., ShareGate, BitTitan, Quest).
- Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- ITIL, PMP, or Agile certification.
