Summary
The Director of Operations and Finance works collaboratively with the executive leadership team, to deliver on the Company’s strategic plan.  This role supports the leadership team in driving planning and execution of strategic initiatives, and in the management and facilitation of other internal initiatives that contribute to growth, sustainability, and enterprise value of the organization.  The Director of Operations and Finance has broad knowledge of business systems and processes used by the organization, ensures systems and processes are optimized, and identifies opportunities for improvements.  The role will be responsible for helping to establish and communicate the strategy and goals for the organization, overseeing the accounting function within the firm, managing the back office/operational cadence of the business, running strategic projects and programs within the organization, and leading initiatives to improve team effectiveness.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Provides leadership for the planning and implementation of strategic initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment amongst key stakeholders
  • Oversight of resources and processes for regular delivery (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) of essential management reporting information to the owners, Partners, Practice Leads and other management or leadership personnel.   Will work collaboratively with the above stakeholders to improve the content, timing, and relevance of management information necessary to advance the company strategy and enterprise value
  • Partners with leadership team to identify goals for the organization, track progress and provide data-driven recommendations
  • Manages key communications and reporting across all levels of the organization.
  • Manages business planning and core internal operations; designs and optimizes processes for speed, efficiency, flexibility, and value; and provides leadership in change management, communications planning, and execution
  • Focuses on internal business processes and workflows supporting operations, such as governance, ERP, data, methodology, training, IT support and systems.  Outcomes include making internal processes, decisions and priorities timelier and more effective
  • As the firm’s senior staff accountant, responsible for processes supporting smooth running of the business from a financial perspective; ensures strategies and controls are in place to keep business in good fiscal health
  • Contributes to developing plans for company’s financial growth
  • Manages Accounting/bookkeeping and other internal operations staff
  • Provides financial training to employees when needed
  • Evaluates and manages financial risk
  • Work with the firm’s outsourced CFO to prepare income statements and other key financial dashboards and reports
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA required, Accounting Firm experience preferred
  • Experience in leadership through influence; professional services experience a plus
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment with heavy emphasis on teamwork
  • Excellent business judgment, strategic thinking, and communication skills, with ability to build partnerships with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Commitment to building inclusive teams and team culture
  • Knowledge of professional services business processes
  • Project and Change Management skills; specific training and/or certifications such as Six Sigma are very applicable
