Candidates must be able to provide senior applications development, evaluation and planning services to our customers, coupled with a sound business background and acumen in order to provide balanced advisory services with respect to business impact, risk, opportunity, etc.  The ideal candidate will provide vision and strategic thinking while having first-class analytical, system design and problem solving skills.
 
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Participate in the business applications evaluation portion of our IT strategy assessments.  Provide expertise to answer questions such as: Do the applications fully support the current and future business needs of the company?  Is it scalable?  What opportunities and/or risks are associated with the current systems?
  • Lead the software selection process for our clients, which includes requirements gathering, RFP creation, vendor evaluation, etc.
  • Guide/advise (in some cases lead) our customers through various applications migration and integration initiatives.  In most cases, this involves vendor management and oversight, communications strategy, expectation strategy, budgeting, timelines, resource requirements, etc.
  • As needed, act as an applications mentor/advisor to the technology staff of our customers.
  • As needed, help to interview and evaluate permanent staff options for our clients.
  • Provide business consulting services based on industry experience or skill set.  This could involve becoming the subject matter expert on our staff of a particular business software, etc.
 
The successful candidate must be able to:
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form (timely, accurate and well written documentation is critical to our success).
  • Communicate status both internally and to our clients on a regular, proactive basis.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead a business process engineering effort.
  • Diagnose and problem solve effectively, with a strong grasp of small/mid-market network/server technologies and an ability to leverage the resources around him/her to get the right answer.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge coupled with the ability to communicate issues/impact in understandable business terms.
  • Engage with clients and coworkers in a productive and positive manner.
 
Education:
  • Equivalent of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Business/Finance
