VP of Information Technology - AVIXA

Summary
An experienced manager who serves on the senior leadership team of AVIXA to provide leadership and assume management responsibility for the direction, coordination, integration and implementation of technology across the organization. The VP of Information Technology will: (1) align technology solutions with AVIXA’s global business requirements; (2) manage the IT team and be accountable for the team’s execution and develop talent of the team; (3) support the digital transformation and innovation, along with the data strategy, of the business; (4) manage and balance risk of technology, projects, cybersecurity, and change; (5) collaborate effectively, communicate timely and engage constructively with all stakeholders, including the AVIXA senior leadership team, the entire employee base, Board of Directors, customers and vendors.

The VP of Information Technology must manage data systems and build and implement tools that track both operational and financial success. We are seeking someone who genuinely enjoys collaborating with passionate people in an entrepreneurial and busy environment. This is a hands-on position with responsibilities that range from strategic and long-range planning and implementation of system-wide technology solutions, to providing one-on-one, and group training and support.

Experience working in both the for-profit world and the association world is a plus, including familiarity with membership systems, learning management systems, event registration systems, CRM, CMS, among other key systems

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of AVIXA’s information systems solutions and is responsible for identification/integration of innovative technology solutions.
  • Assessing the organization’s existing technological capabilities and develop/execute on the IT Governance Strategic Plan.
  • Optimize the level of IT investment in the business, including both IT employee team size and the third-party technology spend, including cost of key systems like AVIXA’s Association Management System (Salesforce/Fonteva).
  • Develops and maintains IT annual operational and capital budget.
  • Direct supervision of approximately 20+ IT employees and contractors
  • Responsible for ensuring a high level of customer service and support to all AVIXA users around the world, ensuring timely/effective feedback and resolution to AVIXA users on IT related issues.
  • Takes lead role in the review of emerging technologies and works to develop potential solutions.
  • IT infrastructure and architecture (e.g., computers and networks) - running as well as ensuring ongoing investments are made.
  • Technology transfer - provide enabling technologies that make it easier for our members to do business with AVIXA as well as increase non-trade show revenue.
  • Customer satisfaction - interact with AVIXA staff and members to ensure continuous member satisfaction.
  • Provide a healthy environment for growth, professional development and cross training within the IT team.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in an IT related field with recent experience in leading/managing an IT function
  • Background and knowledge with technological best practices. This individual should have knowledge of cloud-based systems and solutions; network, server and storage solutions; Accounting software; Salesforce/CRM systems; association management systems; content management systems; learning management systems Database software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Order processing systems; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT related field
  • PMP and Microsoft Certifications preferred but not required

Job Type:  Full-Time

Compensation: $170,000-$230,000 annually.  Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.  Full benefits are available and this position is also eligible for a bonus program
