Summary: Hartman is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer consultant to build and maintain a new cloud strategy and infrastructure and complete a transition from on-prem services to container-based AWS.
Properly and securely configure services hosted on AWS EKS and on-prem
Make recommendations to improve application architecture
Migrate on-prem services to AWS containers
Monitor and troubleshoot web and backend applications
2 years working closely, hands-on, with AWS in a DevOps capacity. Understands Kubernetes and Docker, AWS compute server options, AWS database and storage options, and AWS security options.
Comfort administering Linux and SQL servers (we use CentOS and MySQL/MariaDB)
Skill with one or more programming languages, especially Perl, PHP, Python, and GoLang
Experience configuring and troubleshooting Internet infrastructure
Understanding of change control, change management, configuration policies, Agile, and ITSM in general
Working knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools
Excellent communication skills
Nice-to-have: Experience with Nginx, SparkPost, Drupal, MongoDB, writing Linux daemons
Bachelor’s degree or certification in related field, or 5 years of applicable experience
