Manager, Industry Engagement & Experiences
Hartman Executive Advisors was founded with the vision of providing business-focused, vendor-independent consulting to mid-sized companies. As independent, trusted strategic advisors to our clients, Hartman’s mission is to create meaningful business outcomes that foster growth, greater financial returns and market dominance. By developing a deep understanding of the business challenges arising from poorly aligned technology and uncovering the transformational opportunities that result from strategically aligned technology, we set the path to advance, cultivate and leverage people, processes and systems to change and transform organizations. At Hartman, we deliver powerful business outcomes by leveraging technology strategy as a game-changer for our clients.
Position Overview
The Manager of Industry Engagement & Experiences develops and executes Hartman Executive Advisors' industry engagement and event strategy to strengthen brand awareness, deepen client and association relationships, generate qualified business opportunities, and elevate the firm's reputation across target industries. This role is Marketing's primary owner of Hartman's industry association relationships and the marketing opportunities tied to those partnerships, and it partners with Business Development and Managing Directors to ensure event and association investment align with growth objectives, target markets, and account priorities.
Success in this role requires exceptional organizational skills, strategic planning, and relationship management, along with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously so that Hartman's industry engagement and events become a platform for building relationships, demonstrating expertise, and supporting measurable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Industry & Association Engagement
Lead Marketing's management of Hartman's industry association and strategic organization relationships, ensuring memberships, partnerships, sponsorships, conferences, webinars, speaking opportunities, thought leadership, and related programs support the firm's brand, client engagement, and business development objectives.
- Serve as the primary marketing point of contact for association relationships, including sponsorship, event, and promotional initiatives.
- Develop and maintain Hartman's master calendar of conferences, webinars, sponsorships, hosted events, speaking proposal deadlines, and membership renewal dates, and coordinate with the Communications & PR Manager on content programs and awards.
- Evaluate memberships, sponsorships, and association investments based on strategic alignment, audience reach, brand visibility, relationship-building potential, and business development value. Coordinate with the Sales and Marketing Coordinator championing revenue operations and the Director of Demand Generation & Marketing Operations to track the opportunities and revenue each association produces, and use those results to bring a renew, change, or drop recommendation before each commitment deadline.
- Partner with the Communications & PR Manager, Managing Directors, Business Development, and subject matter experts to position Hartman leaders as speakers, panelists, contributors, and thought leaders in association programs.
Event Strategy, Planning & Execution
Lead Hartman's event marketing strategy and raise the standard for how Hartman shows up at industry events, bringing fresh ideas for sponsorships, hosted events, and client experiences.
Own each event from concept and planning through post-event follow-up, for a balanced portfolio of events that reflect the firm's brand, professionalism, and commitment to client success.
- Develop and manage Hartman's annual event strategy, aligned with the firm's growth initiatives, target industries, and account priorities. Each year, use prior-year results to rank conferences, sponsorships, hosted events, webinars, executive roundtables, and client experiences into must attend, attend if budget allows, and skip, as Marketing's recommendation to each Managing Director, who makes the final call for their practice.
- Manage the event and association budget across the four practices.
- Own the event plan and standards for every event, including contracts, vendors, sponsorship deliverables, speakers, production, and on-site presence. Build event playbooks and logistics checklists so each Managing Director's executive coordinator can handle registrations, travel, hotel bookings, and shipping, with this role providing guidance and final review.
- Partner with Business Development and Managing Directors to define each event's objectives and target attendees, and to coordinate invitation strategy, executive participation, and client meetings.
- Support pre-event outreach, which Business Development owns with the Sales and Marketing Coordinator championing revenue operations (researching attendee lists and identifying target companies and contacts). After each event, work with the Director of Demand Generation & Marketing Operations to confirm follow-up happens and is recorded in HubSpot.
- Make Hartman-hosted roundtables and executive events repeatable, with a standard format, run of show, presentation length, invitation schedule, and feedback form, so each event builds on the last instead of starting from scratch.
- Work with the Communications & PR Manager, who leads content capture at events (video testimonials, client and speaker interviews, and photography) with the video and multimedia role, by building capture opportunities into each event plan so events feed web, social, and AI search content.
Client Experience & Relationship Development
Champion client and prospect experiences by ensuring every event reflects Hartman's service, professionalism, and long-term relationship focus — working across Marketing, Managing Directors, and Business Development to strengthen client loyalty and generate future business opportunities.
- Design experiences and attendee engagement strategies that strengthen relationships with clients, prospects, and strategic partners.
- Coordinate executive hospitality and client appreciation initiatives.
Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement
Use a data-driven approach to measure event and association performance, evaluate return on investment, and improve future engagement — tracking attendance, engagement, pipeline contribution, and feedback to demonstrate the business value of Hartman's investments.
- Coordinate with the Director of Demand Generation & Marketing Operations to ensure every event and association is set up as a lead source in HubSpot, and that attendance, meetings held, opportunities created, and closed revenue are reported for each event and association in a regular dashboard.
- Gather attendee feedback and recommend improvements.
