Accounting Manager

Summary:
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the firm’s financial records in Sage Intacct, overseeing daily accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements. This role is pivotal in preparing accurate financial statements and associated reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. The Accounting Manager will lead the accounting department, engage in process improvement initiatives, and manage financial aspects of development or operational projects as needed. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Management:
    • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
    • Manage the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
    • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
    • Manage financial reporting requirements for operational functions.
  1. Tax and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
    • Assist with audits and reporting, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements and tax returns.
  1. Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and mentor the accounting department.
    • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring superior customer service and cost-effective operations.
    • Support accounts receivable collection efforts and oversee purchasing activities.
  1. Strategic Support:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
    • Compile and present key performance indicator reports, analyzing exceptions and identifying areas for improvement.
    • Lead and participate in cross-functional process improvement initiatives to optimize accounting operations.
Qualifications:
  • Active CPA or CMA certification.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct.
  • 7 or more years of accounting or related experience, with demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, tax compliance, and process management.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, accounting principles, and tax regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments and outside partners.
